Our Silk Oolong Tea, or "High Mountain Ali Shan,” is the most notable high mountain tea from Taiwan. Ali Mountain is located in the south-central part of the island and acclaimed for the Alishan Forest Railway, which literally paved a passage for tea cultivation. Our Silk Oolong Tea is the Green Heart (青心) varietal of Camellia sinensis, yielding large, thick leaves and soft stems most ideal for oolong preparation. Silk Oolong Tea leaves are harvested seasonally from brilliant emerald bushes in the early hours of the morning when young leaves and budding tips are handpicked under the cloak of a foggy mist. Aptly named after its smooth, creamy mouthfeel, the golden-hued “silk” liquor offers gentle fruity, floral notes that kiss the palate.
